During my time in Mayo, I stumbled upon the Enniscoe Looped Walks and was pleasantly surprised. You can find the looped walks at the North Mayo Heritage Centre. Unfortunately when I visited during the pandemic, the centre was closed but the looped walks were still accessible.
The Enniscoe Loop Walks is accessible from the car park, and offers 3km of walks through peaceful forests along Lough Conn.
During rainy weather, it would be a good idea to bring along some wellingtons because the footpath can get quite muddy.

Should the Genealogy centre be open when you visit, you’ll have the opportunity to trace your family routes in Mayo. There is also a museum available at the centre which displays a variety of agricultural and domestic artefacts found in Mayo.
While you are there, also if it is open, there is cafe and walled garden you can visit.
