Connemara is one of the most scenic places in the country to cycle. Ballynahinch Estate offers a 6km completed section of the Connemara Greenway which goes along the Owenmore River in a beautiful, tranquil setting. Ballynahinch Castle Estate offers bicycle hire for hotel guests for those who don’t have their own bicycles.
The greenway offers an easy route to cycle away from the busy main roads, or guests can also use the greenway for walking.
There are plans to extend the Connemara Greenway from Clifden to Galway for a 76km route that plans to follow the historic railway line which closed in 1935.
