Kanab: Utah to Fruita: Colorado – Point of Interest: Moab

Another rather long stretch of the roadtrip, it was 5 hr 26 min (356 miles) from Kanab in Utah to Fruita in Colorado. There were a lot of things to do along the way but for the sake of time I decided to stop at the main destination along the way: Moab.

Even though the drive itself was pretty long, the scenery from Kanab through Moab to Fruita in Colorado was amazing. Plenty of interesting rock formations along the way and photo-worthy spots to stop at.

It was early October, and the temperatures noticeably started dropping with snow on the surrounding mountains.

One stop along the way I stretched my legs at was at Devil’s Canyon View Area on the way to Moab.

Just passing through the area, I stopped at Lions Park and Bike Path Trailhead in Moab for a quick hike. It is not a very long trail from what I could see (unless the path is obscured by vegetation!), but the trail crosses the Colorado River and passes along some beautiful red rocks.

Moab is one of those places I’ve heard of that is great for outdoorsy activities, and famous for the 240 mile race. It’s on my bucket-list to spend more time there one day.

The rest of the drive was not to write about, with the exception of the dramatic storm that passed overhead.
